Welcome to 2017! I hope this issue of the #FamilyMatters e-notice finds you well and that you had an enjoyable festive season and a happy New Year.
On January 25, 2017, you can participate in the mental health conversation in Canada to end stigma and start a national conversation. Below is a link to more information about #bellletstalk and the campaign with Olympian Clara Hughes, Howie Mandel, Serena Ryder and Michael Landsberg to name a few famous faces.
The Start Talking Cup that supports the mental health campaign in Simcoe County will be on January 22. Scroll down to the link to get your tickets.
There will be new educational programs for family members and friends starting up again. Dates and Locations to soon be announced. make sure you have subscribed to this e-notice to be immediately informed when programs are open for registration. If you would like ongoing support here are places you can contact. To have 24/7 support, Crisis Services at 705-728-5044 will get you to speak with a live mental health professional. You may also see them in-person by calling the same number and ask for a mobile service.
To inquire about services at Canadian Mental Health Association of Simcoe County, you may call and speak with the On-Duty Worker Monday-Friday (9am-4pm) at 705-726-5033, anyone can also walk-in, without an appointment, and speak with the On-Duty Worker at 88 Mulcaster St., second floor.
Family members interested in speaking with an addiction counselor may contact the On-Duty Worker for this service at 705-726-5033.
